Solved the Night Before
Red-eye arrivals and pre-dawn departures are the two rides most likely to fall through. They are also the two we pre-commit hardest.
Arion operates at Denver International Airport at any hour, including red-eye arrivals and pre-dawn departures, with no late-night surcharge and no surge pricing. A chauffeur is assigned and waiting regardless of the time; pickup is set 30 minutes after scheduled landing and dispatch is reachable by phone through the night.
Why the pre-dawn airport run is the one that fails
Two windows at DEN behave differently from the rest of the day: arrivals after about 11 p.m. and departures before about 6 a.m.
On-demand supply thins out at both ends. The drivers who work those hours are fewer, and they are the same finite pool everyone else is requesting from at 4:15 a.m. on a Monday. Add a January storm and the pool shrinks again on the exact morning you cannot miss the flight.
A pre-booked vehicle removes the auction entirely. The chauffeur has your trip on their sheet the night before, stages 15 minutes early, and the rate was fixed when you booked.
There is no premium for the hour. A 3 a.m. pickup and a 3 p.m. pickup cost the same.
Red-eye arrivals
Your pickup is set for 30 minutes after your scheduled landing time, the chauffeur texts you as soon as the aircraft is on the ground, and the vehicle is not released until dispatch has exhausted every way of reaching you — one hour after landing with no contact is the only release trigger.
At DEN the default is curbside on Level 5, Island 2 — Door 506 on the west side, Door 511 on the east, depending on which baggage claim your airline uses. Your chauffeur texts you the exact spot, because DEN moves doors and staging during construction. An inside meet-and-greet at the top of the escalators, with a name sign and help to baggage claim, is available at DEN for $75.
Late arrivals are exactly when an inside meet-and-greet earns its $75 — there is less of DEN open, fewer people to ask, and the walk feels longer at one in the morning than it does at noon.
If the flight cancels while you are still in the air somewhere else, we credit the value of the ride and rebook off the new flight. If it merely slides three hours, nothing needs to happen at all — the reservation moves with the arrival.
Pre-dawn departures
DEN recommends being at the airport at least two hours before departure. We build the pickup time backwards from that, using distance, traffic and the forecast, then the chauffeur stages 15 minutes before it.
- Metro pickups we set 10 to 15 minutes earlier than the arithmetic strictly needs. Peña Boulevard is empty at 4 a.m. right up until it is not.
- Mountain departures in winter get roughly two extra hours. A 6 a.m. flight out of DEN from a Summit County condo in February is a middle-of-the-night pickup, and we would rather tell you that when you book than at the door.
- Want to leave earlier anyway? Say so and we move the chauffeur. That costs nothing.
In winter our vehicles run state-approved winter tires and four-wheel drive, which is what Colorado's Traction Law asks for; 4WD vehicles are not required to chain up. Two-wheel-drive vans and buses carry the traction devices the state requires. Chauffeurs are asked to carry a cold-weather kit — flares, triangles, solar blankets, water, food.
Booking a night ride
Six hours is the standard minimum notice. Inside two hours of pickup it becomes a rush booking with a $50 fee, and we will not confirm it until a chauffeur is actually secured — we would rather say no than leave you at a curb at midnight.
Book as far ahead as you like. There is no penalty for planning, and your rate is locked at the rate published when you booked. Colorado requires this class of service to be pre-arranged in any case.
Cancellation terms are the same on every booking: full refund at 48 hours or more, up to 50% inside 48 hours, nothing inside 24. Tours run on a 7-day window.
Rates are hourly and all-inclusive except gratuity, with the first 40 miles of each booking included. Executive Sedan $150/hr (3 passengers, 2-hour minimum), Executive SUV $125/hr (5), Luxury SUV $150/hr (6), Luxury Coach Van $250/hr (12, 3-hour minimum), Executive/Jet Van $325/hr (9) on a 4-hour minimum. Stretch limousines, party buses and coach buses are quote only.
What a night pickup looks like, hour by hour
Departures run the same sequence backwards from DEN's recommended two-hour arrival window, which in practice means a 6 a.m. flight is a pickup somewhere between 3:15 and 3:45 from most of the metro, and considerably earlier from a mountain condo in February.
Who books these
Three groups, and they want different things from the same ride.
Business travellers on the first flight out. They want the pickup to be boring: a named chauffeur, a fixed rate, an invoice that goes to the company. Corporate accounts consolidate under monthly billing — see corporate transportation.
Families on a red-eye. Car seats have to be in the vehicle before it leaves for the airport, which is not something that can be arranged at 1 a.m. Book them with the ride — details on our family airport transportation page.
Ski groups on the early inbound. Landing at 11:30 p.m. and driving to Summit County is a normal winter Friday for us. The shared shuttles have mostly stopped running by then.
Who is driving, and what stands behind the trip
Every Arion chauffeur is background-checked, drug-tested and trained against a written standard operating procedure before carrying a passenger. That SOP is not a formality: it covers vehicle inspection, staging, airport procedure, discretion, and what to do when the highway closes. Chauffeurs recertify against it.
Rides are covered by our own fleet, by Arion-trained independent affiliate chauffeurs, and by vetted Colorado PUC-certified operators. The standard is the same in all three cases, because the SOP is the same. If a trip is covered by an affiliate, the vetting, the insurance requirement and the procedure do not change.
The record, since Arion opened in October 2025: more than 2,500 trips, 10,556 passengers, 579,878 miles, zero accidents. More than 65% of those trips were run on Arion’s own fleet with Arion chauffeurs; the balance went to vetted Colorado PUC-certified affiliate operators trained to Arion’s written standards (how we vet them). 51% of clients book again, and repeat clients are 79% of revenue — which is the number we would look at if we were the ones choosing.

- $1.5 million commercial auto liability and $5 million general liability, on every vehicle, every trip.
- Pre-arranged only. Colorado does not permit this class of carrier to take street hails or on-demand dispatch. Every trip is a reservation.

What the rate includes, and every fee that exists
The hourly rate is the price of the vehicle and the chauffeur. It is all-inclusive except gratuity, and the first 40 miles of the booking are included — per booking, not per hour. Everything that can be added to it is on this list, and nothing that is not on this list gets added later.
No surge pricing, no late-night premium, no storm premium. And a rate lock: if our published rates rise after you book, your booked rate holds for that date. Change the date yourself and the new date's rate applies — unless the change was forced by a delayed or cancelled flight, in which case you get a credit instead.

Does Arion operate late at night at Denver airport?
Yes, at any hour. A chauffeur is assigned and waiting regardless of the time, including red-eye arrivals and pickups after midnight.
Is there a late-night surcharge?
No. There is no late-night surcharge and no surge pricing. A 3 a.m. pickup costs the same hourly rate as a 3 p.m. pickup.
What time should I be picked up for an early morning flight from DEN?
DEN recommends arriving at least two hours before departure, and we work the pickup time backwards from that using distance, traffic and weather. Metro pickups get 10 to 15 minutes of extra slack; a winter mountain departure gets about two extra hours.
How late can I book a car for tonight?
Standard minimum notice is six hours. Inside two hours it is a rush booking with a $50 fee, and we only confirm once a chauffeur is secured.
What if my red-eye lands early?
Text the chauffeur, whose name and number you have before you land. Pickup is scheduled for 30 minutes after your scheduled landing time, and an early arrival is usually absorbed without anyone doing anything.
What if nobody can reach me after I land?
The chauffeur texts you as soon as the aircraft is on the ground and dispatch works every channel it has. One hour after landing with no contact is the point at which the vehicle is released, and that booking is not refunded.
Do you drive to the mountains at night?
Yes. Night mountain transfers get a longer buffer, and in winter the vehicles run four-wheel drive on state-approved winter tires.
Is Arion available 24 hours at Denver airport?
Yes. Trips are pre-booked rather than on demand, and a chauffeur is assigned and waiting whatever the hour, including overnight arrivals and pre-dawn departures.
Do you serve the mountain resorts on a late arrival?
Yes. Landing at 11:30 p.m. and driving to Summit County is a normal winter Friday. The shared shuttles have generally stopped running by then.
Will I know who is picking me up?
Yes. The chauffeur's name and number reach you before you land, and they text as soon as the aircraft is on the ground.
