DEN Weather & Disruption Guide

DEN Delays, Cancellations and Snow:
What Happens to Your Ride

Ground stops, de-icing queues, blizzard closures and 2 a.m. rebookings — what a professional operator does when Denver International stops behaving.

We track your actual flight, not your booked time, so a delayed or early arrival moves your pickup automatically. If your flight is cancelled or DEN closes, we hold your reservation rather than cancelling it — we only cancel on your instruction, or if we cannot reach you by phone, text and email one hour after your flight has gated. Airport pickups include a 30-minute wait grace period.

What happens if my flight into DEN is delayed?

Your pickup moves itself

When you give us a flight number, we monitor that flight. A two-hour delay moves your pickup two hours; an early arrival means your chauffeur is already there. You do not need to call, text, or update the reservation from the air.

The 30-minute grace period

Airport pickups include 30 minutes of complimentary wait time from your actual landing — not from your scheduled landing — which covers a normal walk to baggage claim. Standard non-airport pickups include 15 minutes.

Late-night arrivals

A 1:00 a.m. rebooked arrival is exactly when rideshare supply collapses and surge pricing peaks. A reserved vehicle does not care what time your plane finally lands, and the price you were quoted is the price you pay — we do not surge.

What happens if my flight is cancelled or diverted?

Cancelled inbound flight

We do not cancel your ride because the airline cancelled theirs. Tell dispatch or let the flight feed tell us — either way we hold the reservation and move it to your new arrival, at no penalty and with no late-cancellation charge even inside the normal 48-hour window. The only circumstances in which we release a booking are your own instruction, or no response to phone, text and email one hour after your flight has gated.

Diverted to Colorado Springs or Cheyenne

It happens in Denver storms. We can often meet a diverted flight at Colorado Springs Airport or run the ground leg back to Denver, subject to vehicle availability. Be realistic about timing: repositioning a vehicle 70-plus miles south in the same storm that diverted your flight takes time, so expect delays on a rerouted pickup. Call dispatch as soon as you know — the earlier we hear, the better the options.

Missed connection out of DEN

If your outbound is cancelled and you need a hotel, dispatch can route you to one and hold the return for the next morning. Hourly service billing reflects the actual time used.

Our published policy

Standard cancellations are fully refundable 48 hours out, with up to a 50% charge inside 48 hours and no refund for no-shows; tours require seven days. Airline-caused disruptions are handled as a reschedule. Full terms live on the pricing and policies page.

What happens to my reservation if DEN closes because of weather?

DEN rarely closes — but Denver does

Denver International is built for snow and full closures are unusual, though they do happen in a true blizzard. Far more common: ground stops, hours-long de-icing queues, and a Peña Boulevard drive that takes twice as long. Your ride plan has to survive all three.

If the airport closes

Nobody is flying and nobody should be driving to the terminal. We contact you, cancel or reschedule without penalty, and where the roads are safe we can still move you locally — to a hotel near the airport or back home.

If the roads close but the airport does not

This is the harder case, and it is where a professional operator earns the fee: AWD and 4WD vehicles, winter-rated tires, chauffeurs trained for snow, and dispatch watching CDOT rather than guessing. If we judge the trip unsafe, we say so early instead of stranding you halfway.

Building a storm-proof plan

In winter we recommend a pickup four hours before a domestic departure instead of three, and we will tell you plainly if the weather argues for an airport hotel the night before a critical early flight.

What is the best way to get from DEN during a snowstorm?

A reserved vehicle, booked before the storm

Storm nights are precisely when rideshare supply thins out and surge pricing spikes, and when shuttle schedules collapse. A reservation made in advance is a committed vehicle and a named chauffeur at a fixed hourly rate.

Meet-and-greet matters more in a storm

Your chauffeur meets you on Level 5 near your baggage claim with a name sign and walks you to the vehicle. In a storm, with a rebooked flight and a dead phone battery, not having to find a curb pickup zone is the whole point.

The right vehicle for the roads

Winter airport work goes out in AWD or 4WD — Executive SUV for up to 5 passengers, Luxury SUV for up to 6 — with chains aboard for anything touching the mountain corridor. Rates and capacities are on the fleet page.

If you are continuing to the mountains

A storm at DEN usually means a worse storm on Vail Pass. Read the I-70 winter travel guide and the traction law guide before you plan a same-night mountain transfer.

Why disruption handling is an operator question, not an app question

One dispatch number, one accountable company

During a disruption you reach the same dispatcher who can see your flight, your chauffeur and the road conditions: (970) 703-4995. Not a chat window, not a new stranger each leg.

Real authority and real coverage

Colorado PUC authority HCA0096, $1.5 million in commercial auto liability and $5 million in general liability on every vehicle and every trip.

A record built in bad weather

More than 2,500 trips, 10,556 passengers, 579,878 miles and zero accidents — including the flight cancellations and winter storms of our first Colorado seasons.

No surge, ever

The rate you are quoted is the rate you pay, at 2 a.m., in a blizzard, on New Year's Eve.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if my flight into DEN is delayed?

We track your actual flight and move your pickup automatically — no call needed. Airport pickups include 30 minutes of complimentary wait time measured from your real landing, and we never apply surge pricing to a late arrival.

What happens to my reservation if DEN closes because of weather?

We contact you and cancel or reschedule without penalty. Where roads are safe we can still move you locally, such as to an airport hotel. A documented airline or airport disruption is never billed as a late cancellation.

What if my flight is cancelled the night before?

We hold the reservation rather than cancelling it — let dispatch know, or the flight feed tells us, and we move it to your new arrival at no penalty. We only release a booking if you tell us to, or if we cannot reach you by phone, text and email one hour after your flight has gated. Same-day rebooking is possible subject to availability; our minimum booking notice is normally six hours.

What if my flight is diverted to another airport?

Denver storms do divert flights. We can often meet you at Colorado Springs or run the ground leg back to Denver, subject to vehicle availability. Expect delays on a rerouted pickup — repositioning a vehicle 70-plus miles in the same storm takes time. Call dispatch as early as you can.

What is the best transportation from DEN during a snowstorm?

A vehicle reserved in advance, with meet-and-greet at baggage claim and an AWD or 4WD vehicle on winter tires. Storm nights are exactly when rideshare supply thins and surge pricing peaks.

How much extra time should I allow at DEN in winter?

Plan a pickup four hours before a domestic departure instead of the usual three. De-icing queues, security volume and Peña Boulevard conditions all stretch in a storm.

Do you charge for wait time if I am stuck at baggage claim?

Airport pickups include 30 minutes of complimentary wait from your actual landing. Beyond that, wait time bills in line with the vehicle's hourly rate, and dispatch calls you before that happens.

What is your cancellation policy?

Full refund 48 hours or more before pickup, up to 50% inside 48 hours, no refund for no-shows, and seven days' notice for tours. Airline and weather disruptions are not treated as cancellations at all — we hold the booking and move it to your new arrival.

Will you still drive if the roads are bad?

Yes, in AWD or 4WD vehicles on winter-rated tires with chauffeurs trained for snow — unless conditions or a CDOT closure make the trip unsafe, in which case we tell you early and reschedule. Zero accidents in 579,878 miles is why.
