Those hours matter more here than at a metro field. Aspen has no late-night operations to fall back on, so a delay that would be a minor annoyance at Centennial becomes an overnight somewhere else. We watch the tail number rather than the schedule, and dispatch answers at any hour, including the hours the airport does not operate.
Give us the tail and the FBO at booking and we coordinate the meet with Atlantic directly. The vehicle is in position when you come off the aircraft, not after somebody radios for it. Ramp access rules are the FBO's call, not ours, so we meet planeside where Atlantic permits it and in the lobby where it does not.

Aspen is 4 miles from the ramp, about 9 minutes. Snowmass Village is 6 miles and roughly 11. That short leg is why the airport transfer here is a vehicle-minimum booking rather than a long-haul quote, and why the real service question is not distance but what happens when the flight does not land.
ASE is a demanding approach in a narrow valley, and winter diversions are routine. When one happens the passenger usually ends up at Eagle County, Grand Junction or Denver, anywhere from 69 to 223 road miles from the bed they booked. Holiday weeks bring ramp compression at ASE, when parking is tight and aircraft get turned or repositioned. Those are the same days ground transportation gets scarce in this valley. If you are coordinating a holiday arrival, book the car when you file the trip, not when you land.
The 2027 closure, in plain numbers
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport closes Sunday, April 4, 2027 at 11 p.m. through Friday, November 19, 2027 at 7 p.m. for voter-approved runway reconstruction. During the closure Pitkin County points travelers to Denver International, Grand Junction, Montrose and Eagle County for commercial service, and names Rifle Garfield County Airport as the field available for general aviation. ASE will also be closed to helicopter traffic, with operators directed to Glenwood Springs or Rifle for parking.
For private aviation that turns a 9-minute transfer into a ground leg: Rifle is 66 road miles from Aspen, Eagle County 69, Grand Junction 128, and Denver International 223. Every one of those is a chauffeured drive of an hour and a half or more, in a valley where vehicle supply is finite and every operator in the state has read the same closure notice. We are quoting that summer now.

Luxury SUVs carry 5 passengers in winter with skis and boards on the roof, 6 the rest of the year. The Executive Jet Van seats 9 with a four-hour minimum, which is the vehicle for a full aircraft plus gear.
